Sign up for the club’s only European ski trip! Chamonix was the site of the first Winter Olympics in 1924 and is one of the oldest ski resorts in France. This special trip is part of the Blue Ridge Council’s EuroFest! We will be staying at the Four Star Alpina Hotel and Spa. Breakfast and dinners are included each day along with special Blue Ridge Council activities that include a Welcome Reception, Après Ski and a Farwell Dinner.

The Chamonix Valley is considered by many to be the best freeride areas in the world. Enjoy the best of the French Alps with five different ski areas (Grands Montets, Les Houches, Le Tour/Balme, La Flegere and Le Brevent), offering a total of 29,000+ acres of skiing and over 9,000 vertical feet. The area offers all levels of runs, from beginner to expert. The legendary 12-mile Vallée Blanche is a high off-piste run and is one of the longest in Europe.

Both Skiers and non-skiers can enjoy the area’s other special activities such as taking the train up the side of the mountain to visit Montenvers and Mer de Glace (Ice Cave) or take in the amazing views from the 12,500’ high observatory at Aiguille du Midi. Another option is to take the day off and travel through the seven-mile Mont Blanc tunnel to ski in Italy for the day.

There is also an exciting extension to Lyon and the French Riviera. It is an affordable way to see Lyon, Nice, Cannes, Antibes and Monaco! It’s a great add-on at the end of the trip (you already paid for the airfare). Like our base ski trip, breakfast and dinners are included along with sightseeing and tours.
